Game Day Information
Late Registration
If you did not pre-register, you can still
join the alumni band. Door registration is $30 per individual, or $50 per band
alumni couple. Recent graduates — Winter '06 and later — can still
march free. Show up between 2:30 and 3:30 on Saturday afternoon to make sure you
get your t-shirt and music.
Parking
We cannot provide parking permits for alumni band members. We recommend
you park for free on the shoulder of Rt. 193 (not the median) since it's right
next to CSPAC and Byrd Stadium. See the Byrd Stadium parking
information for details if you want to park in a cash lot
instead.
Where to go
We will meet in the band corridor at CSPAC. If
you've never been here before, it's the side entrance across from the new alumni
center.
Rehearsals
We will have a music rehearsal at 3:30 pm in the
band room on Homecoming day. Step-off for marching practice will be immediately
afterwards at 4:00 pm. The baby brigade will follow right behind.
Instrument Supply
- There are NO trumpets or trombones available for loan! You will have to bring (or borrow) your own.
- Clarinets may not be available, please bring your own.
- Piccolos are in short supply, please try to bring your own.
- Band has okay supply of Tubas and Mellos, but bring your own if you can.
Dancers/Poms
- Please bring your own Poms if you have them. Please bring spares if you have spares. We are not sure of the Pom supply.
Points to Remember
- You can just play in the band and march to Byrd Stadium — you don't have to march pre-game if you prefer to watch. Our "baby brigade" is growing larger every year!
- If you march in the Alumni Band, you do not have to buy yourself a game ticket. You must pay annual UMBAO dues if you don't march but still want to sit near the band.
- We need your response by the October 6th pre-registration deadline to ensure accuracy in numbers for instruments, shirts, food, game tickets, etc. If you register at the door, there will be a $5.00 surcharge. If you do not respond by October 6, plan to register at the door.
Logistics for 2007
Extended Pre-Game — We are marching the extended version of
Pre-Game, from the double-time onto the field through the Alma Mater (no, we won't run
block & mess unless you really want to). And we will play in the stands as much as
our music allows — Victory Song, Alma Mater, Fight Song, Rock & Roll
Part II…
T-Shirts — We will give out our uniform at sign-in — the annual [collectable] Alumni Band t-shirts. One size fits all (XL). Remember to check the weather and wear or bring applicable gear. If possible, we'd like to keep those shirts uncovered.
Tailgate — Depending on kick-off time, we'll have either a breakfast or lunch-time tailgate between rehearsal and game time. More info coming once they announce the kickoff time.
Door Registration Surcharge — We understand that for some of you, it's difficult to commit to the Alumni Band until the last minute. We also know that some of you want to check the weather on game day before deciding to march. In either case, it makes our job a lot harder — having registrations ahead of time is imperative to a smooth operation. That's why we know you'll understand that if you register at the door, we will tack on a $5.00 surcharge.
Last Minute Registrations — If you do not register by October 6th, you must register at the door. Do not call past this deadline if you want to purchase additional game tickets—we will not be able to get them.
Best Section Turn-out Plaque — Show the world that your section had the best turn-out with an engraved space on our "Alumni Band's Best Represented Section" plaque.

Rehearsal?
Saturday morning rehearsal (time TBA) is mandatory for folks wanting to march Pre-Game.What to Wear?

The game may be sold out the general public, but reduced price game tickets for your guests are available for $25.00 each. You must register by October 6 and pay annual dues in order to purchase extra game tickets. Place your order on the downloadable registration form. Tickets will be available for pickup during Saturday's registration/sign-in.Note - We will not order your game tickets unless you pay in advance.
Can my Family & Friends Come to the Tailgate?
Of course — invite them all. Tickets to the tailgate are only $5.00. Children 4 and under eat free.Additional Questions?
