Hey Beach Bums! If you're at Bethany Beach on Friday, June 24, come here the Maryland Community Band play at the Bethany Band Stand. A nice selection of crowd pleasers is promised. You might even get to see a sneak peak of our Community Band Sour Note (some things, you never outgrow).

This concert of popular favorites will put a tap in your toe and a melody in your heart. Featuring a variety of musical "Dances" from Borodin's Polovetsian Dances, to the enduring folk dances taken from Fiddler on the Roof.

Maryland Community Band Kicks Off Band Fun at Maryland Day
Are you attending Maryland Day 2011? If so, stop by the Band Room Lawn for the Maryland Community Band concert at 10:30 AM, and bring your kids to the Instrument Petting Zoo in the Wakefield Band Room directly following the concert. ΚΚΨ & ΤΒΣ Alumni Picnic
Update 10/17: Due to forecasted nastiness, the Alumni Picnic will be moved indoors to 5003 Erie St, College Park, MD 20740. It will still be at 12, and parking is free along the street as long as you dont block anyone's driveway. There will still be delicious food and good times to be had!
All alumni Gamma Xi Brothers and Beta Eta Sisters still in the area after Homecoming are invited to our annual alumni picnic. Bring the family and enjoy an afternoon of food and games.
The picnic will be held in the recently renovated Washington Quad on south campus — it's covered in turf, and has pavilions and grills!
If you can make it, please RSVP to Amber Abbott as soon as possible with your number of attendees so we can get a ballpark headcount.
Centennial DVD Orders Due
Purchase the 2008 Centennial Homecoming Commemorative DVD now! For only $15.00, you can keep a video of the largest alumni band in Maryland history. The DVD contains:
- Coverage of the Henderson reunion
- Interviews with everyone at the Henderson reunion and Homecoming
- Rehearsals
- Footage from our alumni truck to Byrd Stadium
- Alumni band pre-game and halftime performances
Friday Night Centennial Reception

The Centennial Reception and the Homecoming Alumni Band check-in start at 5:00 pm tomorrow, October 24th. We invite all band alums to mix, mingle, and share stories for the evening.
There will be light fare, media presentations, pictures, and maybe a surprise or two. The Reception will continue when the Homecoming Alumni Band participants leave for rehearsals, but will continue when they return.
Light refreshments, finger food, and birthday cake will be provided.
