Mighty Sound of Maryland Instrument Drive 2009

Dear Maryland Band Alumni,

My name is Melissa Apter and I am the Vice-President of Service of the Beta Eta chapter of Tau Beta Sigma, National Honorary Band Sorority, Inc. for the 2009-2010 school year. We have a wonderful new project we will be running over the course of the fall semester that needs your support!

Beta Eta is hosting the MSoM Instrument Drive 2009 on behalf of the Mighty Sound of Maryland. We will be collecting musical instruments, music accessories and monetary donations in conjunction with Hungry For Music, a locally based non-profit 501(c)(3) organization which distributes instruments and provides musical opportunities for underprivileged children nationally and internationally.

Our drive kicks off at the first home football game, Saturday, September 12, when the Terps take on James Madison, and will run through Tuesday, December 1. Volunteers will be positioned outside of the West Gate (the gate closest to the garage) for the two hours prior to every home game, or you can drop off your donation at the band office in the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center (across the street from the West Gate) at any point during the drive. As both Tau Beta Sigma and Hungry For Music are non-profits, your donation is tax deductible! Donation forms will be available at all drop off points.

Please, if you have an instrument you no longer use, sheet music you haven't looked at, a dusty tuner, or even a small monetary donation, consider donating to the MSoM Instrument Drive 2009.
