Miss your four (or five, or six...) years at Maryland? Still reminisce about trucking to Byrd Stadium, where it's always 80 degrees and sunny? Well here are some ways to get back involved! Take a look below for upcoming concerts on campus, how to donate to the band program, and local community bands you can join.
You can help contribute to the band's long-term success with the new L. Richmond Sparks Mighty Sound of Maryland Fund.
This fund was established by University of Maryland Band Alumni and Friends of the University of Maryland Bands to commemorate Dr. Sparks’ distinguished 31 years of service to the University of Maryland as Director of the Mighty Sound of Maryland and as Director of Bands. When contributions to support this fund have reached a sufficient level by December 31, 2017, this fund will be endowed. Income from this endowment will be used to augment the operating budget of the University of Maryland bands.
Gifts in support of the University of Maryland are accepted and managed by the University of Maryland College Park Foundation, Inc., an affiliated 501(c)(3) organization authorized by the Board of Regents. Contributions to the University of Maryland are tax deductible as allowed by law. Gifts postmarked by December 31, 2016 may be eligible for a charitable deduction in 2016. Please see your tax advisor for details.
The University has a number of additional funds you can explore to help support the Maryland Bands program.
Thank you so much for your generosity!
