As in past years, the Mighty Sound of Maryland is raising funds and competing for cash prizes on Giving Day. This year you can help your decade of band compete against the others to raise the most funds!

Recent Grad Match 2021–2025
Donations from recent grads will be doubled using matching funds up to $7,500 at midnight and noon.
Instrument & Equipment Fund 2026 Goal
In previous Giving Day campaigns, the Mighty Sound of Maryland has succeeded in raising much needed funds for instrument repairs, new instruments from piccolos to sousaphones, performance equipment such as risers and color guard flags, and more. This year the band is hoping to raise funds for both a much needed equipment cart as well as a wired sound system. Both purchases would greatly improve the experience for marching band students! Currently, the band rents golf carts from the University each football game day. The rented carts vary greatly in quality and can be unreliable. Purchasing a dedicated utility cart would allow for customization to reduce the physical labor for Volunteer Game Day Staff and allow the band on a whole to move equipment more efficiently. The band has been fortunate enough to regularly practice on the Varsity Turf Field and in the football stadium in addition to opportunities to perform Campus Concerts throughout the school year. A wired sound system would provide a better experience for the band as they rehearse and a better experience for Campus Concert audience members.

This year you can win bragging rights for your decade! Just like in previous Giving Day section competitions, you can help your decade win by selecting the corresponding champion page when making a donation. Each decade page has a unique URL for you to share with your band alumni friends and fellow Mighty Sound of Maryland fans.
